Weekend Wrap Up

Friday started with a visit from my grandmother aka Mommom.  We did a little shopping, I got a few outfits!  Then we took the kiddos to the park and took a walk around Old Town Manassas.

{Ended the day with this sunset!}
Saturday wasn't very exciting.  Carl spent the day switching the engine in a car.  We went to the shop and had lunch/dinner with him and Cai "helped" him for a little bit.  Other than that we hung out and relaxed at home.

{Hanging out!}

On Sunday we had family pictures taken and celebrated Father's Day with our new family of 4!

{Taking a few "practice" shots! Luckily, the actual pictures turned out much better than this! Lol}

We had a great weekend!  I hope you did too!

Friday Confessions

1. I discovered a new music site thanks to my friend Brittney over at Teaberry Trails. I am now obsessed with Groove Shark which is similar to Pandora, but you can choose specific songs to add to your playlists.  Also, you are able to share your playlists and even "broadcast" your station to other users!

Let's just say I have spent WAY to much time creating playlists of songs I listened to when I was younger and I may have been (and still am) in love with Ludacris and ALL his music!

2. Cai has been allowed to play WAY too many video games during the day since Kamee was born.  In my defense, the day I went into labor was his last day of preschool so he has been home all day everyday again and I am running out of indoor activities to entertain him.  And yes, we have been stuck inside most days due to me recovering and mother nature deciding we need rain and A LOT of it!

3. Adjusting to having 2 kids hasn't been as hard as I anticipated in my head.  For the last couple months of my pregnancy that was ALL I worried about, but I have been happily surprised.  I think the adjustment has been smooth because Cai is so into his little sister (I was afraid he would be jealous) and Kamee is such a laid back baby (knock on wood)!  Aside from the sleep deprivation (the whole "sleep when they sleep" doesn't really work with a 4 year old that doesn't take naps) that comes with newborns, it feels like Kamee has always been part of the family!

4. I need some new summer clothes and I need them BAD!!  When I was cleaning out my maternity clothes and putting away my regular clothes I realized I have NOTHING to wear! Some of my clothes are at least 5 years old.  The problem is I NEVER buy myself anything! It's so hard as a mom to spend the money on yourself and not on the babies!

5. Speaking of new clothes, I need a whole mommy make over! Seriously, I am searching for a new hairstyle and color, but I always go to the tried and true!  My hair SUCKS, it's thin and straight and body less and no hairstyles look good with it!  My mom and I have been struggling with this since I was born!

6. We are getting family pictures/Kamee's newborn pictures this weekend and I'm super excited!  I've been a slacker and the last professional family picture we took was when Cai was Kamee's age!!

7. I have never joined a link party since starting this blog because I wasn't sure how they worked, but I am going to try one today!  This one is all about music, so I figured it can't be that hard!!

Here is my contribution to #backthatazzup Friday over at I Wore Yoga Pants To Work

Bob Marley always put me in a good mood and transports me to Jamaica in my head.  Is there a better way to start the weekend then on a tropical island (even if it's just pretend)?!?!

Have a great weekend!!

SHE'S HERE!!

WELCOME TO THE WORLD!!!

Our beautiful baby girl made her debut on May 31st at 2:26 am; 3 weeks before her due date!  She weighed 7 lbs. 3 oz and was 20 inches long!

Everyone is doing great and adjusting well to having a baby in the house.  Cai is so in love with her, which makes me happy!

{Look at the face!}

{My babies!}
Kamee will be 2 weeks old tomorrow and I'm finally feeling back to myself!!  I look forward to regular blogging again.  The last few weeks of my pregnancy were spent on the couch, which got old!  I'm actually excited to be up and cleaning and organizing EVERYTHING!  Is it possible the whole "nesting" phase skipped me during pregnancy, but is hitting me now?!?!

The Past 2 Weeks

GOOD MORNING!!!

Hope your week is going well!

Spring finally showed up for a little while, but decided to go back in hiding this weekend!  Hopefully it will be here to stay really soon!

Loving this fun, colorful arrangement!!

If you are wondering where I've been for the past 2 weeks I'm here to update you!

I took a job with the contracting company.  I have been working with them for a client's project!

This is the first "real" job I've had since Cai was born in 2008, so needless to say, it has been a HUGE adjustment for us all, but I am enjoying it and learning so much!  I am still taking interior design clients also, which I am loving more and more with each new project!

Let's just say between being 7 1/2 months pregnant, a new full time job, my interior design firm, taking care of and spending as much time with Cai as possible (especially before the baby comes), and the normal house cleaning and fun stuff like laundry, the blog took the back seat while our family has been adjusting to our new life.  I feel like we are getting into the swing of things and I will be picking up the blogging as much as possible! I figure once we all get used to our new schedules it will be time to bring Kamee girl into the world and we will be back to square one!  Oh well, such is life!!

Please bear with me while I continue to work on balancing my new schedule without wearing myself out too much before Kamee's big arrival!

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!

Nursery Update!

Well I wasn't able to get the original armoire for Kamee's nursery (picture in the board below)!

Oh the downfalls of freebies on Craigslist, the good ones get snatched up FAST!

But look at this beauty Carl found today!

I emailed this morning and made Carl email them too, but so far no response!

Everyone keep your fingers crossed that this is still available because I want it oh so bad!!

It's so much bigger than the other, but image all the extra storage!! I can't stand seeing clutter!!

Anyways, we are off for a walk/bike ride since Spring FINALLY decided to show up here in Virginia!!

Have a great day!!
